  1. At 2:43 you considered Kh1. Wouldn't that run into g2, winning the rook with check for black (though, granted, Kxf1 wins the promoted pawn back)?

  2. I love your videos so much John. Please never stop.

  3. Hey John, your videos are great! Have you perhaps considered to begin your road to 3000 at some point, that series was very entertaining! 🙂

  4. Thanks for the new content JB. I have watched KC for years. Good luck in your tourney!

  5. Very glad you're Back to this format! I have trouble following otb!

  6. What's the story with the king piece that's always behind you on your camera?

  7. Hey John I just started reading this book called Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman and wanted to know what you think of this paragraph in the introduction of the book?

"When confronted with a problem — choosing a chess move or deciding whether to invest in a stock– the machinery of intuitive thought does the best it can. If the individual has relevant expertise, she will recognize the situation, and the intuitive solution that comes to her mind is likely to be correct. This is what happens when a chess master looks at a complex position: the few moves that immediately occur to him are all strong. When the question is difficult and a skilled solution is not available, intuition still has a shot: an answer may come to mind quickly– but it is not an answer to the original question. The question that the executive faced (should I invest in ford stock?) was difficult, but the answer to an easier and related question (do I like Ford cars?) came readily to his mind and determined his choice. This is the essence of intuitive heuristics: when faced with a difficult question, we often answer an easier one instead, usually without noticing the substitution."

  8. Great video, John! 👍As always! 13:08 throwing Harry down the board 😂 'There's no game without Harry' Simon Williams.

  9. John, maybe you will play ChessRivals with KingsCrusher? It would be fun to watch I guess 😉

  10. Where have you been John? riding a new girlfriend or something…

  11. Could anyone teach me how to play chess better? I know quite a bit but I'm not so good at attacking. Sometimes I'm in a position and I don't know how to improve or what move to make. If you can help me, add me on the chess.com app: matthewcas4 then challenge me to a daily game and say you're from john's video. Thanks

  12. games vs borizlo missed mate in 1 move 37 🙂

  13. Tryfon has the match on his YouTube too, of course. He's been hurting from a wisdom tooth extraction, but your game made him laugh. 🙂
Also, he gave a shout-out to Chessable during the match!

  14. Curious as to how #teamscandi deals with 2. e5. Do you just have to be comfortable with the advanced French to play the Scandi? They really feel like totally different positions, and the French gets really damn cramped

  15. Did borizlo miss a check mate at 17.50 with qg2

  16. John, your spanish pronuntiation is like my english… I mean you have a lot to improve 🙂

  17. hey guys i am reading about John and somewhere it says "…after a few bureaucratic hurdles, he finally was awarded the IM title by FIDE." does anyone know what these "bureaucratic hurdles" were, thank you

  18. John, do you have any GM norms yet? It seems like your play is definitely GM level. You'll get the title if you keep at it

  19. maybe just your best game from the tournament?

  20. Hi John! Can you make more standard chess videos?Tnks!

  21. I'm sure i'm the first to comment that you have an awesome wolverine beard going, lol

  22. Hi John,
I did write u an Email via your attached Emailadresse, but maybe it hasn't reached you?
I'd like to take some lessones, if possible?

P.s. sorry for using this comment-section.

  23. Hey, John. As fellow chess player and Rush fan, I thought you might like to hear that my icc blitz rating just hit 2112! 🙂

  24. John what books do you think are the best for a beginning player like me, i would guess that my is around 1000.

  25. Does the rating "predict" how many times a player will win the other? A 2200 player will how many time a 1200 player until he loses? or there's no relation to that?

  26. that was insightful about a rating indicating how one is playing at the moment. i would say also, that it's sort of a bracket of players at the same level. it's fun to get to the next bracket, in the way that you have "the road to …" whatever rating you choose. also, you lose me in the coordinates list, i don't know how easy it would be for a second board to show the moves? thank you for the uploads.

  27. Kingscrusher is actually a nasty piece of work. I disagreed with his presentation of the world chess championship where he and Chess Explained were talking over each other. I made some constructive criticism, but he flew into a rage, sent me some abusive private messages and then blocked me so I couldn't reply. That's the sort of guy he is behind the scenes. I recommend subscribe to IM Bartholemew instead.

  28. Did Kingscrusher post this video on his channel?

  29. John, maybe you will play ChessRivals with KingsCrusher? It would be fun to watch I guess 😉

  30. I miss old video formats where it was minimalistic ICC over chess commentary. could you somehow make a different blitz/bullet purist playlist with only old stuff and new ICC games? I was confused going through the OTB ones

  31. It seems as if John has been watching a lot of Simon Williams chess recently.

  32. 39:35, Benjamin Bach did not win the 2015 London Chess Classic. Try again.
