Blitz Chess #401: Sicilian Defense, Najdorf variation

This is a game from the 2017 Autumn Marathon where I was playing with the black pieces in a Sicilian Defense, Najdorf variation. How long can one forgo castling? Would positional features still play an important role in a case of opposite sides castling? The time control was 3 minutes with a 2-second increment.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. 1. Watching your logic as you play is valuable

  2. At 7:04 I was looking at Rxa2 followed by Qc1! I think that was winning.

  3. Good stuff Jerry. Cool to see you playing the Najdorf.

    Why did you "chicken out" at 7:30? Do you recall what attacking ideas you were afraid of? Allowing Nxd6 seems like allowing black to escape from a lost position.

  4. I'd call that a clean win. You were in time trouble as usual, lol, but were in control and didn't have to resort to tricks or anything like that. ;}

  5. very inspiring to me, Thx for the Game

  6. Chess is an expression of Pi. Thanks for sharing.

  7. All things considered, Xjurkmaster played a good game.

  8. Your opponent played a pretty good game, actually.

  9. Chess books recommendations, please?

  10. I love playing the najdorf. Oh, and jerry I want to thank you for helping me break the 1400s for the first time!

  11. I love how calmly you let your time run to like less than two seconds while there are still so many pieces around. I was already getting anxiously nervous and you still took time to reason about moves.

  12. How does a 1,5k on lichess play like that

  13. You should go to Jerry day care where you can play with all the other Jerrys 🙂

  14. It's great watching you on lichess making no blunders. Your board awareness is just wonderful to behold.
